In an effort to separate fact from fiction concerning the effects of gaming several Indepedent reports are included here. These reports require the Adobe Acrobat reader which is available for free at Adobe's Website.

The American Gaming Association released a study "Community Leaders' Perceptions of Gaming Industry's Effects." In this timely report, Peter D. Hart Research Associates surveyed the perceptions of gaming held by 201 civic leaders from jurisdictions around the country where gaming has been authorized.

Effects of Casino Gambling on Crime and Quality of Life
in New Casino Jurisdictions

This recently completed study by the Dept of Justice, National Institute of Justice, found that most new casino communities did not have the increases in crime and other problems that opponents assert. UNH Gaming Survey - May 2001
